What To Ask, You Ask?
Your question to the Yijing can be about virtually anything, from the trivial to the profound. (It is not at all unheard of to get a profound answer to a less-than-profound question.) The most important guideline is that it should not be a "yes or no" question. Here are some examples of good questions, intended to give you a feel for it.
Relationships
"Why is he/she reacting to me this way?"
"What keeps my kids from understanding me?"
"What is the most important thing I might change to find the relationship I want?"
Personal Growth
"What is my gift?"
"Where am I going with the path I'm on?"
"What is influencing my situation that I'm not seeing?"
Work and Career
"How might my new business idea turn out?"
"What will happen if I change my career?"
"How can I attract more customers?"
Goals
"What can I do to acheive my goal?"
"What obstacles am I creating for myself?"
"What if I try the new strategy I'm thinking about?"
Decisions
When faced with two options, ask two questions. "What will the result be if I do "A"? Then ask the same question about "B". |
