The Way to the Way

     First, you need a question. Consider it carefully and write it down. We should explore the best question first, usually with a phone call if we are not doing the reading face-to-face.   
     With your question in mind, you will toss three like coins (all dimes, all nickels, etc.) a total of six times. Record the results of the coin toss from the bottom up. The first toss will be on the bottom of the list, with the last one on the top. Abbreviating is fine-"T" for tails, "H" for heads. Your list will look like this; of course, use your results, not the example's.

     This generates your answer, the primary hexagram where you have connected with the matrix of Yi. 
     You should be in a relatively clean, quiet place, and be calm before you toss the coins. This is a matter of respect for the Yi. 
     While some diviners suggest an almost ritual approach, I have not found this to be necesssary. Follow your own instincts to do whatever it is you do to be calm. 
     When you have recorded the toss, phone or email the results, again if we are not doing this in person together. We discuss the meaning of the reading over the phone, because the images will bring up unique meanings for different people. After we have talked, you will be emailed a complete record of all the messages contained in your answer.
